You will now be able to use your Microsoft Office Software. Note:Your product key can be found under Account/Orders in the Digital Resource Portal
Paste the product key in the space provided.
In the pop-up window, click on the small link that reads Enter a Product Key Instead.
Open one of the Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
When opening a Microsoft Office product for the first time, you may be prompted to enter your product key.
Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Once the download is complete, launch the installer from your downloads folder.
Choose whether you wish to install the 32 or 64 bit version.
When the installation is complete, select Close.
Choose whether you wish to install the 32 or 64 bit version of the software and Start Download.
Once the SDX file has downloaded, locate it on your computer (it will most likely be in your Downloads folder) and double click on it to open it.
Click on Download SDM to download the Secure Download Manager and install it.
If you are downloading Microsoft Office 2010, you may be prompted to download the Secure Digital Manager. Look under Order History and click on the item you downloaded. If the license key does not appear, click Your Account/Orders on the top right of the screen.
Record the product key for your records and click Download.
On the Order Page – Click Proceed with Order.
Read the license agreement and sign it with your email and name.
Click on the Shopping Cart icon at the top and “Check out”.
Ensure you are under the Microsoft Work at Home or Microsoft Student Option tab and select on the Microsoft product you wish to download.
Log in with your Algonquin College username and password.
Click on the Digital Resources tab and choose Software.
If you aren’t sure what your credentials are, follow these directions to retrieve them.
Go to and enter your Algonquin College email and password.
Staff/faculty members can use VDI or acquire Office by using option #1 or by bringing your device into the Employee Learning Exchange where it can be installed for you.
